What's your favorite viewing mode in WorkLink?
What's great about the WorkLink app is its flexibility to accommodate different use cases. So, what's your favorite way to view content? Device Mode? Standalone Mode? or Interactive Mode? Did.do you transition from one to another frequently?

Most of our scenarios have models in 1/4 scale. We have found that Interactive Mode provides the best experience when using a smart phone or tablet with this smaller scale. It is also not dependent on a target, which creates flexibility in the experience. Especially when we require the customer to crawl under the machine. The user is able to reference their preferred device when space is limited.
We have one scenario that is designed for device mode where we are snapping the model to the actual component (in this case 1' X 6" circuit board). We have not seen any customer uses for the moment.
Standalone Mode has been used for generating intrigue when introducing the technology to the customer for the first time. Their reactions are always positive.

Great use cases Michael! Is it standard practice for your customers/teams to use smart phones and tablets? Or, do you sometimes use laptops/PC or Hololens?
Was it a gradual progression from one to another?
For the device mode, it would be interesting to know if there might be a good assembly or maintenance use case for your circuit boards.
Also, for standalone mode, we have seen a lot of folks using this for training, sales enablement and marketing. Great to hear you have been leveraging it for some of this!

Yes, for the time being it is standard practice for our customers to use phones and tablets. Mainly because of cost. Laptops/PCs are used but not as often. Generally, our customer service engineers will use laptops for a remote AR call since they are seated at a desk. Our customers who run our machine on the production floor are generally standing or crawling inside the machine. The Hololens definitely delivers an awesome experience but is costly. We hope to design a 1:1 scale scenario where the Hololens would be recommended.
"Was it a gradual progression from one to another?" I am not sure I understand your question. Are you saying in regard to preferred devices to run scenarios?
The procedure for the circuit board I mentioned before is for replacement. We take the customer through the steps of disconnection, switch setting, backup battery replacement, and reconnection.
Yes, we have been using our content for internal training as well.
Cheers!

Thanks Michael. When I asked if it was gradual, you are correct. Which devices did you start out with and did you move from one platform to the next. Same goes for different viewing modes. I ask because I have seen folks use Interactive mode as a "phase 1" approach and then springboard to standalone and then device.
And awesome to hear you're using it for training as well! Sounds like you have some pretty widespread adoption!

My team has been focusing solely on Device Mode, as we are always overlaying the holograms to the products to be viewed with the HoloLens 2. We have only recently started looking at standalone mode for training material with Quizes.

Great to hear you are branching out to new methods of utilization of WorkLink Greg! Are you planning to use standalone so users have the real life look and feel? Versus the experience on interactive mode?
