Viewer read-only access to Create (deprecated)
Important notice: as Project States and WorkLink Web App will replace and supersede the value, viewer read-only access to Create will soon be deprecated.
What is viewer read-only access?
This feature enables read-only access to Create for users who have viewer licenses.
Viewers will be able to view projects that were shared with them, in simulation mode and read-only access only.
Session data in these sessions is not recorded to the CMS.
Use cases:
- Allow end users to get familiar with an AR scenario in browser, without needing to be worried that session data would be recorded.
- Reviewers could leverage a viewer license, to review a project within a browser and provide feedback through a separate channel like email or a chat service.
- Backup for occasions where end user devices are unavailable.
How to enable viewer read-only access?
A super admin needs to enable the "CREATE VIEW-ONLY" variable in the company settings of your company.
What does a typical workflow look like?
The author shares a project with a viewer.
(Author view)
The author can see all users available for sharing, including what license type they have.
Sharing the project with a viewer license, will make the project available on the Create welcome screen of the viewers.
The viewer opens the project.
(Viewer view)
The shared project(s) are available in the "Shared With Me" tab on the Welcome Screen of a viewer.
Different to an author, a viewer cannot:
- Import projects.
- Create a new project.
The viewer reviews the project.
Once the project is open, a viewer can access the project in view-only mode.
A viewer can:
- Click through all sequences and steps, to evaluate the structure of the project.
- Simulate the project, to test the flow of the project.
- Modify viewing settings in the toolbar:
- Switch between standalone and device mode.
- Enable different view settings:
- Hide/show the grid
- Hide/show sprites (like camera's, lights, ...)
- Hide/show AR tracker previews.
- Change the end device UI preview
Unlike an author, a viewer cannot:
- Make or save any modifications to the project.
- Access any of Create's windows, aside from the Scene View.
