Introducing WorkLink App 2.23.0
New Features
- Mobile Device Management (MDM) Support: This release adds the ability to customize the app’s advanced settings within the MDM. This allows the app to be deployed by the MDM to registered devices with the particular advanced settings that are needed for that organization and environment. This is particularly useful for on-premise installations where the app needs to connect to an internally deployed Scope AR server. See How to Configure & Use an MDM for more details on how to configure this.
- Adjustable Object Trackers on HoloLens: This release will now allow the user to adjust the object tracker’s orientation to any angle to provide better angles of alignment that match the user’s perspective on HoloLens. This allows users to align to their physical equipment from a much wider variety of perspectives. This has been available on mobile, but now it is also supported on HoloLens.
- Support for HDR Lighting (WorkLink Labs): The app now supports displaying 3D content with HDR lighting. This allows for accurate lighting and reflections based on the provided environment lighting map which results in more realistic and lifelike rendering of 3D models. For more details on how to author projects see HDR Environment. Note: This requires support and configuration within WorkLink Create to enable this functionality. This is available in WorkLink Create 2.28.0 or greater, and needs to be enabled per company as a WorkLink Labs feature.
Bug Fixes
- Private server address could be reset: When using a private server address, this setting could be reset when a user logs out and then restarts the app with no user logged in. This has now been resolved and this setting is always preserved.
-
Center of rotation could be calculated incorrectly: When the scenario has no content in the first step, the center of rotation is calculated. For content in subsequent steps, the center of rotation is not recalculated and therefore is not correct for the content. This has now been changed so that the center of rotation is recalculated on each step.
-
Expert on UWP is forced into interactive mode: When a scenario is loaded with an expert on UWP, the scenario was loaded and automatically put into interactive mode. This has now been resolved.
