Reset XForms: Why & How? π
π Why Use Reset XForms?
1οΈβ£ Zeroes out transformations β Resets rotation, scale, and position back to 0 and 100% respectively.
2οΈβ£ Fixes local coordinate issues β Ensures the object's local axes align to the world coordinates.
4οΈβ£ Prevents modifier issues β Avoids deformations in symmetry, bend, or other modifiers.
π’ Tip: Some objects such as screws, bolts, nuts and other off angle objects that will be rotating when moving should not have their XForms reset.
π How to Reset XForms
1οΈβ£ Select the object(s) you want to reset.
2οΈβ£ Go to the Utilities Panel (Wrench Icon).
3οΈβ£ Click Reset XForm > Reset Selected.
4οΈβ£ Check the Modify Panel β You'll see a new "Reset XForm" modifier on top of the stack.
5οΈβ£ Collapse the stack (Right-click > Convert to Editable Poly).

Always check for need of resetting XForms before exporting models.

Use Reset XForms before applying modifiers like Bend and FFD.
