07.7 - Edit Poly Modifier - Plugins
🔹 Useful Plugins for Modeling Efficiency 🔹
Here are two powerful plugins that can significantly speed up your workflow in 3DS Max by simplifying common modeling tasks.
1️⃣ Regularizer Plugin – Perfect Circular Selections
🔹 Purpose: Converts selected polygon faces into a perfect circle for cleaner geometry and easier extrusion.
✅ How to Use:
- Select the faces you want to regularize (e.g., square or uneven shape).
- Run the Regularize Plugin.
- Your selected faces are now reshaped into a perfect circle.
- You can extrude, bevel, or continue modeling with an accurate circular shape.
💡 Pro Tip: Can be used on edge and border selections as well.
2️⃣ WPivot2Edge – Align Pivot to Edge for Precise Transformations
🔹 Purpose: Aligns your working pivot to any selected edge, making it easier to rotate or move objects along a custom axis.
✅ How to Use:
- Select an edge that you want to align your pivot to.
- Run WPivot2Edge.
- Your working pivot will now align perfectly with that edge’s orientation.
- Use this to rotate, move, or scale objects accurately along that plane.
- To turn off, go to Hierarchy → Turn Off Use Working Pivot.
💡 Pro Tip: Great for angled objects like pipes, slanted surfaces, or non-uniform geometry where default axis orientations don't match the object's current angle.
Why These Plugins Are Useful
✅ Saves Time – No more manually aligning pivots or reshaping circles.
✅ Improves Accuracy – Ensures precise geometry and correct pivot alignment.
