21 - Applying Materials
Finalizing the Materials and Assigning Textures
1. Assigning Base Materials
- Black Paint: Applied to most of the frame, handles, and structural components.
- Red Paint: Used for key parts like the control panel and specific buttons.
- Bright Metal: Used for bolts, nuts, and other hardware components.
- Medium Metal: Applied to internal engine parts and metal components adjacent to bright metal.
- Dark Metal: Used for exhaust and darker metallic parts to differentiate from other metals.
2. Refining Plastic & Rubber Parts
- Black Rubber: Applied to rubberized components like the pull cord handle and flexible parts.
- Black Plastic: Used for non-metallic casing, air filter cover, and choke lever.
- Gray Plastic: Applied to the front panel light housing.
3. Handling Transparent Materials
- Transparent Material: Assigned to fuel level gauge and protective light covers.
- Blend Mode in Create: These materials will need adjustments in Create to ensure proper transparency.
4. Assigning Special Materials
- Red Light Indicator: Used for warning indicators on the front panel.
- Plastic Yellow: Applied to the oil cap for high visibility.
5. Fixing Smoothing & Adjustments
- Applied Auto Smooth to various parts to ensure smooth shading.
- Adjusted scaling and positioning where necessary.
- Double-checked material assignments to prevent overlapping textures.
