WorkLink Scenarios: Visibility Mode
The Visibility Mode indicates how you are viewing your 3D content. There are three methods of viewing your 3D content within the WorkLink App. For more information about how to switch between these views, refer to WorkLink Scenarios: Scenario Menu.
AR Mode ON
Overlay Mode ON (Previously Device Mode)
When Overlay Mode is ON, the 3D content overlays on top of the equipment. This is used when you have the real equipment in front of you. When properly configured, this will generally only render the specific components that are useful for each step of instruction.
Overlay Mode OFF (Previously Standalone Mode)
When Overlay Mode is OFF, the entire piece of equipment is rendered in 3D. This is used when you do not have access to the real equipment. When configured properly, it will render the entire piece of equipment in your environment so that each step of the instructions can be understood. This is also useful if you want the instructions as a reference while you are beside a piece of equipment.
NOTE: When an image target is recognized in Alignment mode, the visibility mode (Overaly On or Off) will be changed to the setting of that image that is configured when the instructions are built. Alternatively, you can select the menu icon in the top left corner (three bars) of the main interface window and tap on AR Settings to toggle AR Mode and Overlay Mode On and Off.
AR Mode OFF (Previously Interactive Mode)
Turning AR Mode Off allows a user to view instructions without the use of the device camera. This means the content will be displayed in a generic environment and simple gesture controls can be used to zoom, pan and rotate the content. This feature allows the user to view content in any situation on basically any device.
Refer to WorkLink Scenarios: 3D Viewer (Previously Interactive Mode) for more information about how to interact with content in this mode.
