WorkLink Scenarios: How to Load and Switch Scenarios in WorkLink App
This guide will help you understand how to load and switch between scenarios in the WorkLink app. These instructions are designed for users who are new to the app, so no prior experience is necessary. By the end of this guide, you will be able to launch, switch, and exit scenarios easily. We’ll also explain how to work with linked scenarios and handle different session types.
Launching a Scenario in WorkLink
1. Open the WorkLink App:
Launch the WorkLink app on your device and log in with your credentials.
-
- Tip: Make sure you have a stable internet connection if you're working in online mode
2. Access Scenarios:
Once logged in, tap on the "Scenarios" button to view the available scenarios.
3. Select a Scenario:
Tap the scenario you wish to load from the list of available projects.
4. Follow Alignment Prompts:
Depending on the type of scenario you’re accessing, follow the on-screen prompts to align the content (surface, object placements, etc.) within your environment.
-
- Tip: Take your time to ensure accurate placement for the best experience.
Understanding Linked Scenarios
The WorkLink app allows you to launch another scenario from within a current session. This feature can be useful when you need to access related scenarios without leaving the app.
Key Requirements:
- The scenarios must be linked in WorkLink Create before use.
- Both scenarios need to be published, either online or offline.
- If using offline mode, both projects must be stored on the same device.
Persistent vs. Passive Scenario Sessions
-
Persistent Scenarios: These sessions are resumable.
When tapping the project link icon (usually represented by an object acting as a button), a pop-up will appear with the following message:"Opening this scenario will close your existing scenario. You may resume the current scenario later. Would you like to continue?"
You can select "OK" to save your progress and resume the current scenario later. If you select "Cancel," you will remain in the current scenario and the new one will not load. -
Passive Scenarios: These sessions are not resumable.
A similar pop-up will appear when attempting to load a new scenario:"Opening this scenario will close your existing scenario. Would you like to continue?"
If you select "OK," the current session will end, and you cannot resume it later. Selecting "Cancel" will keep you in the current scenario.
Navigating Between Scenarios
If a scenario you’re using has links to other scenarios, you can navigate to them using the project link icons. Follow the prompts based on whether the new scenario is persistent or passive.
-
For Persistent Scenarios:
You can return to the original scenario after you have finished the new one by resuming where you left off. -
For Passive Scenarios:
You will need to start the original scenario over if you choose to switch to a new one.
Exiting a Scenario
Once you’re done with a scenario, you can exit by following these steps:
-
Tap the Three-Dot Menu:
On the top-left corner of your screen, tap the three-dot menu icon. -
Select “Exit Scenario”:
This will close the scenario and return you to the list of available scenarios.
Helpful Tips
- Work Offline: If you're working in offline mode, ensure that all your required scenarios are downloaded onto your device in advance.
- Linked Scenarios: If you're unsure whether a scenario is persistent or passive, it’s always a good idea to check the pop-up message carefully before proceeding.
