WorkLink Create: How to export and import projects, sequences, materials, and UI templates
How to export a project
Exporting a project can be helpful for sharing your project outside of your company. For example; it is useful for debugging an issue.
- 1. Go to File > Export > Project
- 2. Choose an export type:
- Project, assets and CAD: Exports the project, including all original and processed assets
- Project and assets: Exports the project, including only processed assets. Since only processed assets are referenced by the project, this is the export type most recommended.
- Project without assets: Exports the project without any referenced assets. As a result, the project will only be usable within the same company.
Note: the last available save will be exported, the timestamp of that save is also displayed in the export window.
- 3. You will be able to monitor your export status in the Export window.
You can click the refresh button until you see the Status is successful, after that, you can press the download button. On the right, which will export a .zip file containing your project and exported assets.
How to upload or import a project
- 1. From the welcome screen, press the Upload Project button
- 2. Give your Project a unique name in the Project Upload dialog.
- 3. Browse to your previously exported project (this will be a .zip file consisting of random digits eg. ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOpqr123.zip) and click "Open".
- 4. Wait until the project is imported, this might take a while, as all assets in the .zip will be uploaded, and the project will be recreated.
- 5. After the upload is done, save the project.
Tip: you can also use Project Import to upload an .rbop file.
How to import sequences from another project
Use File > Import > Project Sequences to reuse complete sequences in an existing project. This adds the selected sequences to the project you have open.
Before you begin: Save the source project manually so its latest changes are available, then open the destination project in Edit mode. Stop Simulate mode before importing.
- Open File > Import > Project Sequences.
- In Import from Project, find and select the source project. Use the search field or the All Projects, My Projects, and Shared With Me filters.
- On the Sequences tab, check the sequences you want to import. Expand Preview steps to review each sequence. You can search by sequence name, use Select All to select the displayed results, or use Clear to reset your selection.
- Review the selected sequence and step counts, then click Import.
- Wait for the import to finish. The imported sequences are added at the end of the sequence list. Connect them to your workflow, review their content and navigation, and save the destination project.
What is included: Each selected sequence includes its Default State and steps. Required assets, materials, and UI templates are included automatically.
Tracking and workflow: Your destination project's Content Placement Step and tracking settings are kept. If a selected sequence connects to another sequence in the source, select that sequence too. Follow any validation message shown during import.
Older source projects: If Create asks you to update the source save, open the source project in the current version of Create and save it manually, then try the import again. Materials and templates can still be imported separately.
How to import materials and UI templates from another project
You can reuse materials and UI templates without importing complete sequences.
- Open the destination project and choose File > Import > Materials & UI Templates. You can also access this import from Asset Library > Create.
- Find and select the source project in Import from Project.
- On the Materials & Templates tab, expand the available groups and check the items you want. Use the search field to filter items. A group checkbox selects its items; Select All selects the displayed results, and Clear resets the selection.
- Click Import, then save the destination project.
Tip: After selecting a source project, you can switch between Sequences and Materials & Templates in the same dialog.
