WorkLink Scenarios: Using Annotations with Form Photos & Screenshots
Overview
The Annotations feature allows users to add drawings, arrows, and text directly to photos within forms and screenshots. This enhances clarity and provides better visual context when submitting inspections, reports, or feedback.
When to Use Annotations
Annotations are especially useful when you need to:
Highlight defects, issues, or areas of concern.
Provide visual instructions or notes.
Add context to images captured during a scenario.
Improve communication in inspection or reporting workflows.
How to Add Annotations to a Photo in a Form & Screenshot
- Navigate to a form step that includes a photo field
- Tap Take Photo to capture an image.
- After capturing, the annotation tools will appear automatically.
- Use the tools to mark up the image:
- Draw freely or highlight areas using the pencil option
- Mark specific points of interest using the arrow option
- Add written explanations if needed to support your annotations using the text option
- Use the gear icon to change the color and size/thickness of annotations.
- Use the backward/forward arrows (top left) to undo or redo changes.
- Choose one of the following:
- Retake to capture a new image
- Save to confirm annotations and continue
Use the hamburger menu and select the Take Screenshot option if an annotated screenshot is required during a session.
Viewing Annotated Photos & Screenshots
Annotations are saved as part of the image and included in the form submission and/or screenshot capture and will be uploaded to the CMS once the session concludes. Please review this article for more information on reviewing and retrieving session data, including photos and screenshots.
