We are excited to announce the release of WorkLink App 2.42.0, introducing enhanced authentication, improved folder navigation, better session recovery, and several important usability and security improvements.

New Features

1. Restart Crashed Persistent Per-User Sessions: Users can now restart persistent per-user scenario sessions that were interrupted by an unexpected app closure or crash. This feature helps users quickly recover and continue their work without having to start over, improving the overall scenario experience.

2. Modernized Authentication with OAuth: The app's authentication process has been upgraded from the legacy API v2 session login mechanism to an OAuth-based password grant and refresh token flow. This modernization improves security, reliability, and alignment with industry authentication standards.

3. New CMS Single Sign-On (SSO) Experience: A new CMS SSO authentication flow has been implemented, replacing the previous browser-based authorization process. The new approach provides a more secure and streamlined login experience across WorkLink products.

4. Support for Empty Folders: Folders are now displayed even when they contain no scenarios. Opening an empty folder will show a clear "No scenarios found" message, making folder navigation more intuitive and consistent.

5. Folder Paths Displayed in Search and Load Dialogs: Folder paths are now shown throughout search results and scenario load dialogs. This allows users to quickly identify where scenarios are located within their folder structure and improves navigation within large content libraries.

 

Bug Fixes

1. Paste Functionality Restored in Login and Advanced Settings: Resolved an issue that prevented users from pasting information into login fields and advanced settings. This fix improves compatibility with password managers and simplifies account setup.

2. Revision Count Correctly Reflects Folder Searches: Fixed an issue where revision counts did not accurately update when searching within folders or navigating folder hierarchies. Counts now correctly reflect the current context.

3. Photos and Screenshots Work Correctly During Serverless Sign-On: Resolved an issue where photo capture and screenshot functionality could fail when using serverless sign-on. These actions now work reliably in all supported authentication scenarios.

4. Improved Security for Authentication Tokens: Fixed a security issue where authentication tokens could be stored as plain text on the device filesystem. Tokens are now stored securely to better protect user credentials and session data.

5. Enhanced Call Registration Reliability: Improved the call registration process by adding retry logic and clearer user-facing error messages. This provides more reliable call connections and better feedback when connectivity issues occur.

6. Fixed Crash When Exiting Scenarios from UI2 Templates: Resolved an issue that could cause the app to crash when users exited a scenario using a UI step within UI2 templates. Scenario exits now complete reliably without impacting app stability.
